Omah Lay – BACK TO LAGOS Ft. Gunna

Lagos carries a personal meaning in the record’s title, pointing to the city Omah Lay moved to from Port Harcourt in 2019 as he pursued his music career. The song reflects on fame, ambition and the importance of staying connected to familiar surroundings even after success changes one’s circumstances.

Gunna’s appearance brings an American rap perspective into the collaboration, extending the international reach of the album. The Atlanta rapper built his profile through projects such as Drip Season 3, Wunna and A Gift & a Curse, while Omah Lay’s own rise began with the 2020 Get Layd EP and songs including “Bad Influence” and “You”. Production on the track is credited to Louie Rubio and Rance.

The extended album follows Omah Lay’s earlier projects, including his 2022 debut album Boy Alone, and adds to a year in which his collaboration with Davido, “With You”, earned a Grammy nomination. The original Clarity of Mind explores personal growth, relationships and spirituality, while this additional track brings the subject of home and identity into the album’s wider conversation.

With brilliant collaboration from Gunna lending with a smooth vocals, “BACK TO LAGOS” becomes a song that balances heartfelt delivery with great production, making it ideal for both casual listening and dance settings. Stream and Download Below.
