Omah Lay – TAKE Ft. Tiakola

The collaboration moves between English, Nigerian Pidgin and French, giving both singers room to bring their own language and style into the same record. Tiakola contributes a French verse, while the song’s repeated money-centred refrain provides a common thread between their performances.

Production comes from Lekaa Beats and Rance. Lekaa Beats has worked with Omah Lay on previous records, including “Isaka II (6am)” with Tems and “Angels” with Odumodublvck, making this another connection between the singer and a producer familiar with his catalogue.

Tiakola first gained attention as a member of the French rap group 4Keus before establishing himself as a solo artist with his debut album, Mélo. For Omah Lay, the collaboration adds a French-speaking artist to a project already featuring Gunna on “Back to Lagos”, extending the album’s international reach while keeping his own Nigerian musical identity in view.

With the contribution of Tiakola, “TAKE” takes on a richer soundscape, blending unique grooves with soulful vocal, resulting in a track that immediately captures attention.
