Danny S – Oloun

Danny S, the Ilorin-born street-hop act who has spent close to a decade turning Lagos street talk into hit records, is back on the speakers with “Oloun”.
Born Ojo Daniel Olaborode on 11 November 1995, he is originally from Igbole in Ekiti State. His first recorded song was Shengbenne in 2013, but the real breakthrough came in 2018 with Ege (Dribble), a shaku shaku dance anthem. Its video was shot around Fagba and Iju Ishaga in Lagos and directed by Unlimited L.A.
That run caught the attention of Olamide, and the YBNL boss later featured on Waka Jeje, produced by Booster and released in March 2019. Around the same period came Japaa, with Shogo, and Oh My God, produced by 2T Boyz. Those records built the reputation Danny S still carries, an artist who writes for the street and for the party in the same breath.
His sound sits where Afrobeats, Fuji influences and street rhythms meet, and he has never kept his music light all the time. In October 2020 he released O O (Original Ole), a single on bad governance and leadership. For anyone who follows him, this release is one more chapter in a catalogue that moves between celebration and commentary.
