Danny S – Gbemilo

Danny S, the Iju Ishaga ambassador known for turning everyday slang into street anthems, puts a Yoruba phrase to music on “Gbemilo”.
Phrases like that are what his best-known records are built on. Sho Baadi Ni?, produced by Playbob and released as a follow-up to Oh My God, had street lingo all over it, and Danny S has always sounded most at home when he writes the way people actually talk. Ege (Dribble) did the same in 2018 and became a viral dance record.
That year was a busy one for him. He put out Salary, Japaa and a freestyle featuring Olamide, then returned from a three-week tour of Europe and the UAE. Collaborations have followed along the way, from DJ Bode’s Thank God to JayPizzle’s 100 Million, which also featured Logos and Mr Real.
More recently he released Na Gode in May 2025. A July 2026 profile in ThisDay described him as one of the notable voices in Nigeria’s street-hop movement, with a sound that mixes Afrobeats, Fuji and street rhythms. Followers of that sound will see this release as another step in a career that began with a first song in 2013.
