Wande Coal – Oshe Ft. Wizkid

The track Oshe moves on a smooth, warm production that sits right in the pocket of what both artists do best, unhurried and melodic in a way that makes the record feel like it has been around longer than it has. The two voices work together without either one overpowering the other and the result is a track that carries the easy confidence of people who have been doing this long enough to know exactly what they are doing when they step into a session together.

Black Diamond as he is widely called has been a pillar of Nigerian music since the Mo’Hits days with a vocal ability that has never really been matched in the space, and recent releases like Feelings and DEARLY have shown him still operating at a genuinely high level without coasting on the legacy. Wizkid is arguably the most globally recognised Nigerian artist alive right now and when he shows up on a record you feel it immediately, not because of the name but because the presence is always real.

It is a kind of collaboration that makes you wonder why it took this long to happen and then makes you grateful it finally did because it turns out it was worth the wait.
